Shams Azad is working in a key strategic role of BRAC Microfinance Programme, one of the largest in the world, having an asset size of 1.8 bln USD, serving 6 mln clients, with a team of 26,000+ people. He leads functions like product development, client services, monitoring and risk assessment etc. Recently, his team introduced new products like “Job Holder Loan”, targeted to the bottom tire of middle class or “Seasonal Loan”, targeted to farmers in hard to reach areas. Under Shams’ leadership BRAC achieved “SMART Certification”.
